Discover What Is In Our Premium Compost At Wildmore Compost

Behind The Bag: The Secret Formula to Our Compost

Our compost has been trialled and tested for almost a decade to ensure that even the most dedicated peat fan will be converted to a peat free fanatic!

We strive for honesty at Wildmore Compost as well as sustainability. That's why we are laying out the truth about what is inside of our compost. We believe that customers should be empowered to make informed decisions about their eco-choices (and what exactly they are buying!) without all the vague sustainability claims and greenwashing.

The aim is to create peat free compost that delivers only the best quality, so you don't have to compromise on results when making sustainable choices. Below you can find out how we have achieved just that.

Ingredients

Our compost contains seven materials to make up our blend. They have been precisely measured down to the millilitre to ensure that it is perfect.

AD Fibre - Plant Rocket Fuel

Our AD Fibre is the star of the show. Made from 100% natural, renewable materials, this rocket fuel is a source of nutrients for your plants. We have been putting pure, quality certified AD Fibre on our fields as fertiliser for years, so we know this stuff is the crème de la crème!

  • It is packed full of essential micro-nutrients, microbes and minerals to create a balanced N:P:K ratio that is absorbed by your plants. The result is endless blooms, healthy plants, and robust roots.
  • AD Fibre's fine structure can also improve the amount of air pockets in your compost, meaning it can hold more water for longer, and it provides a strong foundation for roots to thrive.

Coir - Water Holding Hero

Coir is a natural product that comes from the husks of coconuts. The coir we use has an optimised ph that is more suitable for plants than normal coir. This means root growth and absorption of trace elements will be more efficient.

  • Coir has a fibrous structure that promotes healthy root growth. It also supports water retention and absorption.
  • Our coir is dehydrated to lower emissions during transportation. When it arrives on our farm, we rehydrate it using collected rainwater!

Wood Fibre - The Structure Saviour

We also use high-grade wood fibres in our compost. The renewable wood fibres come from responsibly managed forests from local sources that meet sustainability criteria.

  • The wood fibres provide long-term structural stability to the compost and helps to prevent waterlogged compost by improving drainage.

Conifer Bark - The Drainage Expert

Just like the coir and wood fibre, our wood bark is responsibly sourced and is renewable.

  • Conifer bark's role is to improve structure and drainage to the compost, creating an excellent environment for roots to thrive. It retains nutrients which slowly get released.

Three Trace Nutrients

To ensure that you only get the highest quality compost that delivers time and time again, we have carefully composed an assortment of three special ingredients that take our compost to the next level.

These nutrients ensure that you have an initial feed of 10-12 weeks and that your compost stays moist for longer.
